about

I'm not the first to compare Architecture and Music.... One of my sisters is an Architect, this piece is dedicated to her and her influence on my already existent love for buildings, design. This is definitely an odd structure musically. It's from a concert with DON PRESTON AKASHIC ENSEMBLE, a trio I was in with Don, one of Zappa's legendary synth players, and my late partner Cheri Jiosne, electronic percussionist. There is a tiny snippet of her on this track. We lost her in August 2010, missing her every day. Every night on tour we would each get a couple little moments to just take off on a solo experiment. This was the first time I had toured with a device called a Roland VG-8. So it's all "virtual guitar". Actually, this show is on Don Preston's 73rd birthday.
